Mark has over nineteen years of experience in multifamily operations, investment management, asset management and new development. Mark has been developing multifamily apartments, condominiums, mixed-use, marinas and retail projects, since 1996. For twelve years, Mark worked with two of the most prominent multifamily real estate companies in the Southeast, Lane Company and Julian LeCraw & Company, Inc. (JLC).
While at JLC, Mark was directly responsible for the development of $48M of new projects. These include 400 units of multifamily apartments and town homes, a 350 boat slip marina and 20,000+ square feet of retail. Mark was responsible for the turnkey development of these projects including due diligence, land acquisition, construction management and the ultimate delivery and disposition of the product.
Between 2000 and 2003, while working with the Lane Company, Mark developed over $85M worth of new projects including apartments, condominiums, condominium conversions, adaptive reuse and mixed-use projects.
In 2003, Mark left the corporate world to form his own development company. Since then, Mark has developed $90M worth of new, ground-up developments, consisting of condominium, townhome and apartment projects. These projects have ranged in scope from an 18 unit luxury townhome project to a 333 unit high density apartment development. These projects have all been multifamily in nature, with varying degrees of construction and development challenges. Mark’s latest achievement has been recognized as the first LEED Gold Certified Apartment project in the Southeast, and consists of a 333 unit, six-story building with structured parking.
